About

Creating Community 1066 is a group based in Hastings which aims to build community through creative projects.

The Hastings & 1066 Cartoon Festival is our first project. We wanted to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings and to commemorate the life of Martin Honeysett who was a cartoonist with an international reputation who lived in and loved Hastings.

We have organised an outreach programme of workshops and talks which ran through September and October, culminating in a ‘Really BIG Cartoon Day’ on The Stade on Sunday 16 October.

We hope you come along on Sunday and subscribe to our newsletter.
